"After watching the sun set behind Delicate Arch, you don't want to squeeze back into a noisy hotel room on the highway. You want your own space — a real kitchen, a private porch, and a comfortable bed waiting."

Every month at Edge of the Desert, we shine a spotlight on one of our 22 custom tiny homes — and this month, it's all about Delicate Arch Cabin #03. Named after one of the most iconic natural landmarks in the American Southwest, this cabin is more than a place to sleep. It's a basecamp built for the kind of Moab trip you'll actually remember.

And this month? You could win a free night here. More on that below. 👇

The Arch That Inspired It All

Delicate Arch is Utah's most recognized landmark — a 52-foot freestanding sandstone arch that has stood for millions of years at the edge of a canyon bowl in Arches National Park. It's the arch on Utah's license plate. It's the arch that stops hikers in their tracks every single time, no matter how many photos they've seen.

The 3-mile round-trip hike to Delicate Arch is one of the most rewarding in the entire national park system. You climb slickrock, traverse a narrow ledge, and then — suddenly — the arch appears. There's nothing quite like it.

A few things to know before you go:

  • The trailhead opens at sunrise — arrive early to beat the crowds and the heat
  • Sunrise and sunset hikes offer the most dramatic light on the arch
  • The trail is 3 miles round-trip with 480 feet of elevation gain — bring water
  • From Edge of the Desert, you're just 10–15 minutes from the park entrance
  • Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park are also within easy reach
